Jack Worthing • A young (29ish) gentleman from the country; in love with Gwendolen Fairfax.

Algernon Moncrieff • A young gentleman from London, the nephew of Lady Bracknell; in love with Cecily Cardew.

Gwendolen Fairfax • A young lady in London society, loved by Jack Worthing. Ideally inn her late teens or early twenties.

Lady Bracknell • A society lady, Gwendolen’s mother. May be cast as a male playing her.

Cecily Cardew • A young lady (18), the ward of Jack Worthing.

Miss Prism • Cecily’s governess. 50+ Lots of comic potential with Gwendolen Fairfax.
